World beater!

In a Christchurch workshop in the early 1990s, John Britten and his team hand-built the ultimate racing machine – the Britten V1000. It was the world’s most advanced – and fastest – motorcycle at the time, with its radical new engine, lightweight carbon-fibre body, and streamlined design.

In 1993, the Britten V1000 set the World Flying Mile Record for motorcycles 1000cc and under, clocking up 302.705 kilometres per hour.
